former mem
have been a continuous member of the Actors Centre since 1996 and have witnessed the progress and the many changes that have occured over the years. Back then I wrestled with the idea of going to drama school. But on finding the Actors Centre, I was able to benefit from the quality and variety of the classes available. This allowed me to study while still performing, enabling me to continue to grow within the industry.
The Centres ideal location in the heart of London, provides a great meeting place, learning environment and a relaxed space allowing you to focus before heading off to your casting. I highly recommend The Meisner classes and Nina Finburgh's sight-reading class as she focuses squarely on honing the skill of getting the job in the casting room.
Over the years my career has gone from strength to strength: I have enjoyed huge successes with several major leads in West end shows including the original Mufasa in The Lion King, Javert in Les Miserable and Crown in Trevor Nunn's Porgy and Bess. Feature film roles include Uncle Curtis in Kidulthood/Adulthood and Glenstorm in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. I have gone onto produce and direct plays and I have recently written and developed my own work entitled One Look, with invaluable help and support from the Centre.
